The Annual Prediction Show – Part 1

Usain Bolt

It’s that time of year again… when it ends. So we’re back with a look at how our predictions of 2012 did, and with some new ones for 2013. It was such a long show that we split it into two parts. Look for the second half tomorrow.

This part deals with the past: The big events of 2012 and how our predictions did. The second part will look to the future.

Special: Ian McLean From Statpedia Interview

Ian McLean joined us to share a little bit about Statpedia, his startup. Matthew found him on Kickstarter, and thought it was a cool enough idea to learn more.

Statpedia’s mission is to be a central crowdsourced repository for statistical findings. This includes raw datasets, finished charts, articles analyzing data, and much more. In addition to being a repository, Statpedia is building a search engine with beautiful layouts to display the results. Ian’s dream is for anyone to be able share cool stats they’ve created/discovered and easily find stats to help their research.

Statpedia’s team of 4 is looking to launch in December and build up their repository from there. You can learn more, including watch a demo, on their Kickstarter Page.

Thanks Ian for chatting with us. We’ll be rooting for you!
